Obviously the most important musician of all in a recording is the lead singer

Uuan Colomer explains, "When I heard a demo of Esmeralda, I immediately knew that was the voice I was looking for. As I kept listening to the tape, I started considering the possibility of her singing also some of the songs I composed with a male singer in mind. By the time I finished with the tape, I was convinced that she had to sing the whole CD. Not only she was able to sing all the styles in the CD perfectly but on top of that, add her own personality to them which gave a sense of unity which wouldn't have, had I used different singers.

She was also in charge of the vocal arrangements and frankly, I doubt there is anybody more qualified for that than her. It was like fallen from

the sky (well,, besides coming on the plane), a dream come true. At first I would tell her my thoughts about the background vocals and ask for her opinion and at the second song I would just ask her what she wanted to do. She was so good and so reliable that I just stepped back and gave her total control. She would even change a word or a melodic line to improve it: 'Because I say it so and it sounds better, so shut up and careful with the punch in 'cause I don't want to do it again, Boy, what a pain you are!!."

SHORT BIOGRAPHY

Esmeralda arives to Madrid in 94 from Orihuela with a solid musical background as well as theatrical. She starts her career as a professional singer/composer and in that same year she is awarded First Prize in the 27th edition of Benidorm Song Festival, the most prestigious of its kind in Spain.

At the present, she combines her work in studios and tours with other artists with the recording of her first album as a solo artist with her own songs.
